The Race

The “race” is suggested through the use of colour.
Colour that relates to the school colours and also the newly painted ceiling in the hall.
The bright blue draws the eye upwards in three “lanes”, the centre one winning the race and the prize of the crown (modelled on the school badge).
The many straight lines that criss-cross the design tell of the endless thought and activity that goes on at school with the 34 small pressed glass lenses portraying the number of weeks the pupils spend at Kingham in a year.
At the base of the three lights is the unofficial school motto, in Latin to echo the traditional motto in the south-facing windows.
